GET TO KNOW ME
Meet Jalia Robinson
Charlotte native | Birth Doula | Wellness Advocate
Hello! I’m Jalia Robinson—a proud Charlotte native and alumna of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My journey into birth work began when I became aware of the heartbreaking disparities in maternal care affecting Black and Brown women. Witnessing those gaps in support and outcomes inspired me to step into this work with purpose.
My Why
I became a doula because I believe every birthing person deserves to feel seen, heard, and safe—especially in their most vulnerable moments. My “why” is deeply rooted in justice, compassion, and community. While the disparities affecting Black and Brown women called me into this work, what keeps me going is knowing that all women—regardless of race, background, or birth plan—deserve care that is informed, respectful, and personal.
This work isn’t just about birth—it’s about holding space, building trust, and reminding families that their voices matter. I show up fully and authentically so that the people I serve feel supported, protected, and empowered to birth their way.
What I Do
As a birth doula based in Charlotte, NC, I provide culturally sensitive, affirming support for every birthing person and family. Whether you're giving birth for the first time or navigating a new chapter in parenthood, my goal is to make sure you feel seen, heard, and held—every step of the way.
Wellness & Community
Beyond birth work, I’m deeply connected to Charlotte’s vibrant wellness community. During my time coaching at QC FIT WEST, I had the privilege of training pregnant women and adapting workouts to support them throughout every stage of pregnancy. I’ve also hosted wellness and fitness events that celebrate health, movement, and meaningful connection—because I believe wellness is a lifestyle that touches every part of our lives.
When I’m not supporting families or leading events, you’ll likely find me moving my body at places like The Coterie Wellness Studio, Strength and Wellness Collective, Fuel Bootcamp, QC FIT WEST, or running with Mad Miles Run Club. Fitness keeps me grounded—and so does spending time outdoors with my fur baby, playing pickleball, hiking trails, or soaking up the sun with my people.
The Heart of My Work
Self-care is non-negotiable in my life. I believe when we feel strong, cared for, and confident, we show up for ourselves and others with more love, clarity, and joy.
Being a doula isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling. One rooted in justice, wellness, and love. I’m here to support your birth your way—with compassion, confidence, and care that truly honors you.
